Hirtzel, Chow, and Novak Present Webinar on Auto Case Law and UM/UIM Coverage

On Thursday, December 3rd, Gregory Hirtzel, Dennis Chow, and Benjamin Novak presented a lunchtime webinar on some of Pennsylvania’s most recent court decisions regarding auto case law and UM/UIM coverage. The topics discussed included coverage election forms, UM and UIM coverage exclusions, whether the admissibility of future medical bills are subject to the MVFRL’s cost containment provisions and trial court holdings impacting the Defendant/insurance carrier’s right to IMEs. The panel shared their insight on the effect of several relevant appellate court holdings as it relates to an insurer’s exposure in UM and UIM claims as well as how Pennsylvania’s appellate courts will resolve open issues relating to MVFRL policy forms, Inter-policy stacking where the insured has rejected stacked coverage under two or more policies and the regular use and ride sharing exclusions regularly found in UM and UIM endorsements.
