Quinn M. McCusker is a partner in the New Jersey office of Fowler Hirtzel McNulty & Spaulding. He has focused on the defense of insureds and self-insureds since he entered private practice. Mr. McCusker has significant experience in a variety of casualty matters, including premises, commercial transportation, construction defect, and construction accident. He also has handled numerous professional liability matters in cases involving claims of medical, pharmacy, and legal malpractice.

Most recently, Mr. McCusker has handled numerous accident investigations, often within hours of the accident, and the resulting litigation, for commercial trucking and construction companies. These matters frequently involve catastrophic injuries and fatalities and span the eastern portion of the country, including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, South Carolina, and Georgia. Mr. McCusker’s investigations include responding to the scenes with the assistance of specialized experts, interviewing employees and witnesses, and protecting and preserving essential evidence. Post-investigation he will meet with clients to recommend plans necessary to protect the clients’ interests and prepare the case for either early resolution or litigation.

Mr. McCusker obtained defense verdicts in products and premises liability trials, and has also been involved in the briefing of several significant cases on appeal before the Appellate Division and the Supreme Court of New Jersey. His appellate matters include the published NJ Supreme Court opinion of Davis v. Devereux, 209 N.J. 269 (2012) which halted the expansion of liability and exposure faced by non-profit organizations for employee wrongdoing.

Mr. McCusker was recently appointed to the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Insurance Defense Committee.
