In recent years, diagnoses of traumatically induced RSD, also known as complex regional pain have been increasing. Plaintiff’s expert physicians often rely on RSD to explain alleged extraordinary pain that is out of alignment with diagnosis. As the diagnosis of RSD is largely subjective, cases often involve a battle of the experts. Defending these cases requires a thoughtful blend of anticipation and preparation.
